Facts:
I was born in Malibu, California.
I was a successful tween model for a few years.
In school, I was voted best smile.
I took some acting classes before, but the teacher was English and thought he was all that. La-me.
My heros are my parents, poor people who work hard or win a lottery and can live the American dream, famous women who struggled and did important things and made a difference.
Why the Blog?
I grew up being told by my parents and teachers and friends that there was something special about me, that I would go on to do big things. So here I am! I have decided that I want to be a writer because I think I have a unique perspective on things (a young, hip perspective from today’s generation) and can offer intelligent things to be read.
I call it Valerie Atherton’s Playground and Intellectual Department! Why? Because sometimes it’ll be silly like playing at a playground and sometimes it’ll make you stop and think about stuff.

If your writings were in newspapers, I would PAY for those newspapers. Just to read your writings! Thanks for keeping the internet alive. By the way, your site doesn’t seem to get much traffic. Are you broadcasting from a cul-de-sac?

first off, before you write me off as a “hater” or whatever your sad little brain wants to come up with, i just have to say . . . that I am APPALLED by this so called “intellectual department”. You OBVIOUSLY lack the intellect to realize that forrest gump was not “lacking sex appeal” because it wasn’t ABOUT forrest gumps sexuality! it was about his struggle and his achievements. was mother theresa aesthetically beautiful?? do you even KNOW what aesthetic MEANS???? and before you pick up your dictionary to look it up, and your national geographic to look up mother theresa, i have a few more things to say. watchmen was an excellent movie. and im glad MORONS like YOU don’t have the mental capacity to understand it. you don’t deserve it. i’m not even going to bother attempting to explain how wrong you are in your final analysis, although i do want to say this; the silk spectre doesnt slow down time. its called SLOW MOTION. god, you’re dumb. TRANSFORMERS. i’ll let imdb.com take care of this. “Michael Bay must be stopped at all costs.”
if you want to be a writer, sweetie, let me tell you, NO ONE GIVES A CRAP that you were voted best smile. instead of focusing on getting in the ROP program you were focusing on that. sad times.
also, you may want to actually WATCH a movie before you review it, and maybe even do some background research. because nobody wants to read this crap as a serious review on modern cinema. NOBODY WINS ON LOST!!!!
